I have to say a HUGE Congratulations and Thank you for having me… a great wedding day and I wish you every happiness for the future xx
A couple of years back I met this lovely couple who I instantly loved. Such warm lovely people and I instantly clicked. I went around for their initial meeting and sat talking for ages and thought ….this wedding is going to rock.
January 29th came around this year and it didn’t disappoint. It totally lived up! Did I mention that I love this couple! I arrived at Chilston Park nice and early in the morning… and it was a cold one! I had a lovely warm welcome and was offered coffee straight away, its the way to my heart! I got cracking photographing all the bits that I love…. the dress (which always makes me squeal) the flowers, the shoes, perfume. Its a part of the day that’s calm and can be taken its time with.
Carly is just so calm and sweet and kind and seeing her reaction when some flowers arrived from Greg genuinely bought tears to my eyes. I know that strong love exists because I see it in theirs eyes. The whole family were calm about getting ready and there was a buzz of excitement. Vanessa Hawks was busy working away on the bridal team to get their hair and make up looking perfect.
They were getting married at Bredhurst Church, Medway, Kent and I have to say this Vicar is the coolest Vicar in the world. Apologies if there are cooler out there…I just clearly haven’t met you yet 😀 Greg was waiting outside looking amazingly smart in his suit in the freezing cold. I love this part seeing the Grooms before the ceremony you can see the nervous excitement on their faces, looking like small boys again and the rest of the groomsmen cracking inappropriate jokes… maybe a small part of this is me too, but its important to laugh and make everyone feel at ease. The strange things you remember too about wedding days, there is a toilet hut outside and I used my supply of handgel for this bunch!
It was time to wait for Carly to arrive….. she looked so stunning a real natural beauty and the bridesmaids all looked amazing too. A few quick nervous pictures and into the church.
Waiting down the front of the Church for Carly to walk down the aisle I glanced over to Greg’s face filled with love and pride, it was lovely to witness. Sometimes you capture the most private looks and moments on camera. “You are every reason, every hope and every dream I’ve ever had”― Nicholas Sparks (The Notebook)
After bursting out of the church back into the cold we headed back off to Chilston Park, Lenham, Kent. All the wedding guests despite the cold gusts were all in very high spirits and great fun to photograph during the formal photos.
Its then my part of the day to take off the new Mr & Mrs for their romantic poses, these guys were so grateful thanking me. What they don’t realise is that I am the thankful one to be able to spend this time and moment with them on their day away from their guests and get to ask them how it was and what the Groom thought seeing his beautiful Bride for the first time. It really is such an honour, especially seeing the bond these two share.
The speeches are always part of the day that I love seeing, especially watching Greg talk about his new wife, Carly, the small touches, the looks, the love and affection. These two have something really special, solid and deep. I wish them both every happiness in their lives together.
“I love you. I am who I am because of you. You are every reason, every hope, and every dream I’ve ever had, and no matter what happens to us in the future, everyday we are together is the greatest day of my life. I will always be yours” ― Nicholas Sparks
Thank you for sharing it with me xxxx
This wedding to me was magical, a real family affair.
I was first contacted by Gina & Scott in January 2012. When I met with them at their home in Detling I instantly felt comfortable with them. We sat around a big dining table looking at samples over a cuppa! That’s always a great start! The more details they told me about the day the more excited I became!
Their wedding was to be held in the grounds of the family home. They had a beautiful pergoda built out the back that was going to have fresh country garden flowers grown all around. A marquee was being erected in the field and this was going to have a really rustic feel….bunting, wild flowers, home cooked cakes!
On the day of the wedding the weather was not behaving and was unseasonally chilly for a June day! Who cares about that small detail though! I met Gina at the Hilton Maidstone for her bridal prep pictures. Gina is such a tall stunning lady….the dress so stylish nipping in at the waist going into a full skirt. It was so calm! No wobbles no panics just very laid back.
When I arrived at the house, it was a similar scenario Scott was waiting for me with Mans best friend and we got some great pictures of them together. The guests were all seated and waiting for Gina to arrive.
The ceremony was just perfect, really intimate and hit the right note perfectly. These two are great for each other.
After all the group photo’s I took Gina & Scott off for a walk for their romantic poses. I love being around these two they are so calming and smiley. My favourite shot was with Gina’s horses, maybe I should have got them on them 😀
Then I got to go in the Marquee, I was so excited about this bit seeing how everything had come together and boy it didn’t disappoint! There was bunting strung everywhere (I love bunting), hand tied fresh flowers that smelt wonderful, the favours were like being transported to Alice in wonderland! They were little colourful bottles saying ‘drink me’ I’m not actually sure what happened when you did drink them!
All in all this was a fantastic wedding and one that I won’t be forgetting, it will hold a special place in my heart. Families are special and this was perfect.
On 15th March 2013 I was asked by a local company called Cabot Financial to come and photograph their Comic Relief Celebrations and mayhem!
This is a Company that isn’t new to me…I am a regular there and quite often appear for many of their PR events. What a company, I am always made so welcome with a reserved parking space…a named plaque to stop anyone nabbing my spot and a welcoming board in reception. This place even has an in house Costa Coffee….it rocks 🙂
I arrived early evening to find all the staff lingering in their red outfits and really getting into the spirit. These guys has all given up their evening to answer OUR calls and be one of the main RND call centres. What an amazing, satisfying way to spend a night. Each station had a tv set up to watch all the action and staff layed on a refreshment cart to keep all fed and watered. It was Brilliant! My job was to circulate and take natural shots of everyone doing their thang!
Enjoy the pictures…share them too, we as a Country did an amazing job and raised a phenomenal amount of money for a truly amazing cause……..I went straight home and donated 🙂
